What are the lessons like?

Each King of Kings lesson is packed with purpose and wonder, designed to help children meet Jesus in Scripture, in story, and in their own hearts. Here’s how each lesson flows:

• Prepare – Everything you need to lead with confidence and clarity. Each lesson comes with a downloadable Series Overview PDF—perfect for sharing with your team and getting everyone excited and equipped!

• Read – Start with a fun icebreaker game, then dive into Scripture together. The full Bible passage is included, but we encourage leaders to open the Bible, read it aloud, and help kids engage with the living Word.

• Watch – Watch the film clip that brings the passage to life. Children are encouraged to compare what they see on screen with what they just read—asking questions, spotting differences, and digging deeper into the truth of Scripture.

• Imagine – Rooted in the tradition of imaginative prayer (think St. Ignatius of Loyola!), this section invites children to step into the story—just like Walter does in the film. With a guided reflection, creative prompts, quizzes, and crafts, kids won’t just hear the Bible—they’ll experience it.

• Close – Wrap up with a simple, heartfelt prayer. Then send kids home with a family devotional to keep the conversation going all week long.

King of Kings has one 7-part series: Miracles of Jesus. From healing to resurrection, each of these seven lessons reveals more of who Jesus is—here’s what’s inside:

1. Jesus Heals a Blind Man: Jesus’ Power… to Heal. This lesson shines a light on Jesus’ compassion and divine power as He heals a man born blind. Children will discover that suffering isn’t always caused by sin—it can be a space where God’s glory breaks through. Through imagination, crafts, and play, they’ll encounter Jesus as the Light of the World. Key scriptures: Matthew 9:27–31, Mark 8:22–26, John 9:1–7

2. Jesus Casts Out Unclean Spirits: Jesus’ Power… Over Evil. Meet the Jesus who sets people free. As children step into the story of the man tormented by unclean spirits, they’ll explore how Jesus brings peace where there was fear, and freedom where there were chains. This powerful lesson reminds us that nothing is stronger than His love. Key scriptures: Matthew 8:31–32, Mark 5:1–20, Luke 8:26–39

3. Jesus Heals a Paralysed Man: Jesus’ Power… Over Sin. Lowered through a roof and met with forgiveness—this story invites children to see how Jesus looks beyond the surface to the heart. Kids will explore Jesus’ authority to forgive sin and heal completely, while diving into a story full of friendship, faith, and unexpected grace. Key scriptures: Matthew 8:31–32, Mark 5:1–20, Luke 8:26–39

4. Jesus Feeds the 5000: Jesus’ Power… To Provide. Five loaves. Two fish. One miracle-working Messiah. In this joyful lesson, children will see how Jesus meets both our physical and spiritual needs—and that He doesn’t just give enough, He gives Himself. Expect laughter, games, and lots of learning. Key scriptures: Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:30-44, Luke 9:12-17, John 6:1-4

5. Jesus Walks on Water: Jesus’ Power… Over Nature. When life gets stormy, we can trust the One who walks on waves. In this awe-inspiring lesson, children will journey with Jesus and Peter across the water and learn what it means to fix our eyes on Jesus—no matter what comes. Key scriptures: Matthew 14:22–36

6. Jesus Raises Lazarus: Jesus’ Power… Over Death. Even when it seemed too late, Jesus stepped into the grief of His friends and brought life from the grave. This powerful lesson shows children how deeply Jesus cares, and how He brings hope even in hard times. Through storytelling and reflection, kids will meet the God who makes all things new. Key scriptures: John 11:38–44, Luke 7:12–17

7. Jesus’ Resurrection: Jesus Has God’s Power… Because He is God. This is the miracle that changed everything. In this final lesson, children will celebrate Jesus’ victory over death and reflect on what it means that the King of Kings is alive. From Scripture to games to creative response, this lesson is full of joyful truth: Jesus is alive—and He is Lord! Key scriptures: Matthew 28:1–10, Luke 24:1–12, John 20:1–18, Mark 16:1–8
