Ages 5-11; Using scenes from The King of Kings film, these lessons help kids see who Jesus really is.

What if your kids didn’t just learn about Jesus—but actually met Him? The King of Kings curriculum by Scripture Union Scotland brings the Bible to life through stunning animation, heartfelt imagination, and the truth of who Jesus truly is.
Created with your Sunday mornings in mind, each series invites children to step into the story—imagining themselves in the scene as you explore the Bible together, just like Walter in the movie.
Film clips bring the story to life, while icebreakers, quizzes, and crafts keep kids engaged and having fun. With built-in moments for reflection, discussion, and prayer, children are gently guided to explore and respond to what they’ve discovered.

Each King of Kings lesson is filled with purpose and wonder—designed to help children meet Jesus in Scripture, in story, and in their own hearts. Here’s how each lesson flows:
Leader’s Overview – Everything you need to lead with confidence and clarity. Each lesson includes a downloadable Series Overview PDF—perfect for equipping your team and building excitement together.
Icebreaker – Start with fun, helping everyone feel comfortable as you introduce the theme of the lesson.
Scripture – Dive into the Bible, watch the story unfold through a movie clip, and invite kids to imagine themselves in the scene. Rooted in the tradition of imaginative prayer (think St. Ignatius of Loyola), this helps children encounter Jesus as they explore His miracles (Series One) or journey through the Gospel of Mark (Series Two).
Response – Kids don’t just hear the message—they explore it, discuss it, and respond through interactive quizzes and creative prayer activities.
Finish – Wrap up with crafts or games that reinforce the learning, then send kids home with a family devotional or take-home card to keep the conversation going all week long.
King of Kings includes two 7-part series, each designed to reveal more of who Jesus is and invite children into a growing relationship with Him.
Series One: Miracles of Jesus
Each lesson reveals a different aspect of Jesus’ divine nature, showing that His miracles weren’t just for show—they were signs that “in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9). Whether you explore the full series or dip into a single session, each lesson stands strong on its own and fits seamlessly into your ministry rhythm.
Series Two: Who Do You Say I Am?
A journey through Mark 1–8, helping children encounter Jesus through both His words and His actions. As they imagine the scenes, share in conversation, and engage in hands-on activities, children begin to see what it might have been like to walk alongside Him—witnessing His authority, compassion, power, and teaching first hand. As the series unfolds, they are gently invited to consider Jesus’ question, “Who do you say I am?”, and begin forming their own response. Designed to build week by week, this series works best when used consecutively.
Together, these two series create space for children not just to learn about Jesus—but to encounter Him, understand who He is, and begin responding in their own lives.
