Why This Event Matters
When I was four years old, I went to my first Blue Jays baseball game with my family. My two older brothers carried their baseball gloves, convinced they were going to catch a home run, and we all wore our Blue Jays caps. I still remember my brother’s favorite player, Ernie Whitt, stepping up to bat. My brother leaned forward and confidently said, “Ernie Whitt’s gonna hit a home run.”
And he did. On the first pitch.
A few years later, eight-year-old me visited Disney World for the first time. We loved the rides, the spectacle, the way everything felt larger than life. One moment stands out clearly. During Muppet-Vision 3D, a bunny character caused chaos throughout the show. When the bunny suddenly appeared in the balcony, my brother jumped up and loudly announced, “Look! There he is!” (We still tease him about it.)
These memories may seem unrelated — different places, different times — but they share something important.
They happened with my family.
That’s the heart behind why we've created this new immersive Easter family experience: Step Into the Story.
This event invites families to slow down, interact, pray, reflect, and engage the Easter story together. It’s about more than listening. It’s about entering the story and helping families recognize that they are living within the greatest story of all.

What Is Step Into the Story?
When we sat down to design this event, we wanted to create more than just a "program." Step Into the Story is a self-paced, immersive Easter experience where families journey together through six interactive stations, each representing a place Jesus travelled during Holy Week, as well as just before he ascended to heaven.
We've designed it so families move at their own pace, engaging Scripture through hands-on moments of reflection, response, and celebration.
The Six Stations
Let's walk through the six stations together.
1. Palm Praise
Families step into the parade of Jesus entering Jerusalem. They receive a palm, offer praise, and consider what it means to welcome Jesus as King in their own lives.
2. Garden of Gethsemane
Set in the garden where Jesus prayed before His betrayal, families hold a small stone as they ponder a guided question and prayer point together.
3. The Cross
At the cross, families are invited to lay something down. They leave a note or drawing and pray together in a moment of reflection and surrender.
4. The Dark-in-Between
This station represents the silence between death and resurrection. Families consider how the disciples may have felt on that quiet Saturday while holding an unbroken glow stick — a symbol of hope not yet revealed.
5. The Empty Tomb
Joy breaks in. Families crack their glow stick and celebrate the hope and victory of the resurrection.
6. The Blessing Garden
Families plant a seed together as a reminder of new life and the seeds of faith we plant in one another. A ministry leader offers a blessing before they conclude the experience.
What's Included
As a ministry leader, I know that your "to-do" list is already a mile long, especially during Holy Week. That’s why we’ve made this kit as "plug-and-play" as possible. Whether your church is small or large, working with a limited volunteer team or a modest budget, Step Into the Story is achievable in your setting.
Inside the kit, we’ve included everything you need to feel confident:
A detailed Director’s Manual with step-by-step setup and facilitation instructions.
A Supply List and printing checklist (no guesswork involved!).
Beautiful Station Signage and graphic files.
A Participant Booklet for families to complete as they journey.

Space for Encounter
Ultimately, you aren’t aiming to "impress" families. You’re simply removing obstacles and guiding them into moments of wonder. Jesus is the center of the story; our role is simply to make space for families to encounter Him together.
At its core, this event exists to help you disciple parents as they disciple their children. It serves as a primer — helping parents feel more confident engaging their kids in spiritual conversation.
If you’re looking for a family-centered Easter event that is immersive, manageable, and discipleship-focused, this experience was created with you in mind.
My prayer is that as you invite families to step into these stories, they will live more fully in the deep realization that they live within the greatest story.
This immersive event is part of our RaiseUpFaith subscription. And when you join, you’re not just getting an Easter resource — you’re stepping into a playground of imaginative, joy-filled curriculum designed to inspire young people and empower your volunteers week after week. We’d love to have you with us.
